EA has teased new information about its future plans, including details in regards to Star Wars Battlefront 2.
During its third-quarter earnings call, the company outlined its plans for a sequel to the wildly successful Star Wars Battlefront (2015). The follow-up is scheduled for a holiday 2017 release, meaning the game will tie in nicely with the upcoming Star Wars Episode 8, due for release towards the end of this year. The biggest news to come out of the meeting is that the new game will feature a single-player campaign, a noteable, and disappointing absence from the original title. EA have also stated that the game will take place over multiple different eras, as opposed to the first game that dealt solely with content from the original Star Wars trilogy.
These are positive signs for the game as many fans felt let down by the lack of an aforementioned single-player campaign. This writer will also point out the highly disappointing lack of space combat in Star Wars Battlefront (2015), and can we please see a return for that incredibly addictive galactic conquest mode?
We’ll be sure to update if any more news drops.
