We all fondly remember the golden days of colourful and fun 3D platformers like Conker’s Bad Fur Day, Super Mario 64, and more to the point in this case, Banjo Kazooie.
Yooka-Laylee is an attempt to bring this era of gaming back to life, with a shiny new coat of polish. Currently in developement under core members of the team behind the N64 classics Banjo-Kazooie and Banjo-Tooie, Yooka-Laylee is said to be a spiritual successor to the aforementioned titles, having big shoes to fill.
With a release date of April 17th, 2017, we don’t have long to wait to meet our new duo – Yooka, the green gecko looking dude, and Laylee, the friendly looking Zubat that tags along atop Yooka’s head. We’re sure that these two will be charming, along with a plethora of other wacky and wonderful friends they’ll meet along the way.
What do you think? Will Yooka-Laylee go down in history as a true classic? Or will it pale in comparison to it’s predecessors, leaving us with only nostalgia surrounding the classics and an empty wallet? Watch this space for more.
