Obsidian tease new project, Fallout fans lose their minds

Obsidian, the studio that developed Fallout: New Vegas, have released a vague image teasing what appears to be their next project.

The picture, seen above, gives little information away, and could relate to any number of titles that the studio are associated with. Nevertheless, the tease has gotten Fallout fans excited at the prospect of a new entry in the series.

After the incredible success of Fallout 3, Bethesda (the owners of the Fallout IP) drafted in the talented Obsidian to develop a follow up in the form of Fallout: New Vegas. The release went down a storm with long-time fans of the series, who praised the games’ complex storyline, and also the developers’ commitment to the long established lore of the series. In fact, many hard-core fans preferred New Vegas to the wildly popular Fallout 3, so you can understand why excitement is building.

However, its important to note that the tease could relate to any number of IPs. For example, Pillars of Eternity 2 has been confirmed to be in development for some time now, and some feel that the quote in the picture relates to the series. Another possibility, albeit a long-shot, is that this could relate to a new entry in the legendary Star Wars spin off series, Knights of the Old Republic. After all, Obsidian did develop Knights of the Old Republic II

While this writer will hope and pray for a new Fallout game, its clear we shouldn’t get too excited yet. Hopefully all will be revealed soon. For now, can we dream?
